IPL – NHS Approved Lynton Laser Technology at Medicare Aesthetics

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy utilizes advanced flash lamp technology to address a wide range of cosmetic concerns, offering a non-invasive and effective solution for various skin conditions and aesthetic enhancements.

The treatment is generally well-tolerated but may cause mild discomfort, often described as a sensation similar to snapping the skin with an elastic band. To ensure your comfort throughout the procedure, cooling techniques are applied before, during, and after the treatment, significantly reducing any potential discomfort and enhancing the overall experience.

Before starting any IPL treatment, a complimentary consultation and patch test are essential. This ensures the treatment is suitable for your skin type and individual needs, while also minimizing the risk of any adverse reactions.

IPL Permanent Hair Removal Treatments

Lynton Laser’s hair removal technology is the first to deliver two gold standard lasers – Alexandrite and Nd:YAG in a virtually painless mode.

Using photo thermolysis the light works by being drawn to the darker melanin in the hair shaft, which in turn heats up to destroy the follicle resulting in permanent hair reduction.

Please be aware that it can take 6-12 sessions to reach the desired result. Ultimately these will depend on a number of factors such as the hair colour, coarseness, and location of hair.

At Medicare Aesthetics, we offer the following treatable areas:

If your suffering with acne it will come as no surprise that it is a common skin condition affecting 95% of teenagers and adults to some extent during the course of their lifetime. Acne is more commonly triggered by hormonal changes in the body, especially puberty. In response to these hormones, the sebaceous gland (found in the hair follicle) produces too much oil, or ‘sebum,’ which captures dead skin, debris and, in turn, clogs up the follicles. Bacteria builds up in the sebaceous (oil-producing) gland which travels up the hair follicle and out to the skin’s surface, this results in blackheads, whiteheads, red or pus-filled spots, and inflamed skin.

IPL treatment for acne has proven to be a great and effective method to enable our clients an alternative to chemical medications which can have some serious side effects. Different light waves delivered in IPL therapy targets and destroys two of the main bacteria found in acne. Also, the reversible gentle heating of sebaceous glands which reduce the sebum output can result in the long-term remission from acne. Increased fibroblast activity and collagen stimulation can also help with improve mild acne scarring and accelerate the healing process. IPL treatments have shown they work best in conjunction with chemical peels.

IPL Facial Veins & Pigment Removal

Red Facial Veins, spider veins or telangiectasia (thread veins) are tiny blood vessels (capillaries) which run close to the skin’s surface. They look like fine webs and tend to be either red or occasionally purple or blue. These frequently occur on and around the nose, across the cheeks and chin. They are mostly caused by overexposure to the sun, drastic changes in weather, changes in pressure. Excessive alcohol consumption can also be a factor as well as environmental irritants or simply genetics. The resulting red, web-shaped appearance gives them their common name, spider veins. Vascular lesions emerge when the blood vessels become enlarged which causes the veins to appear broken this may happen in alter life while others may be born with congenital lesions, cherry spots, port wine stains, freckles. Some of us may go on to develop sun-spots, liver spots.

Rosacea is a common skin condition which most often appears between the ages of 30 and 60 and is usually visible on the cheeks, forehead, chin, and nose. People with rosacea often find they suffer from facial thread veins as the skin is red and flushed. Vascular and pigmented lesions and red facial veins and red flushing can be a cause of real concern and distress. Unfortunately, rosacea is a chronic condition however, with our medical-grade Lynton IPL treatment we can create a personalised treatment plan to help to get your rosacea under control. At Medicare Aesthetics we offer a targeted permanent solution for the clearance of red veins and lesions and Pigmentation & Rosacea. Depending on the type of vessel or lesion we have advanced medical-grade IPL to treat you, we also have the Nd: YAG handset.

Following a thorough consultation, we will choose the best technology for your treatment. IPL works by Light energy being applied to the skin where it is readily absorbed by the blood vessels, heating them to a point where they are destroyed. Following treatment, the vessels quickly clear as they are reabsorbed by the body, leaving little or no trace of the original lesion. This is a similar process for lesions and pigmentation. Again the light energy is drawn into the darker colour of haemoglobin in the vascular lesions or melanin in the pigmented areas. For vascular areas, the light energy turns into heat coagulating the vessel leading to it to shut down and disappear or darken and then be reabsorbed into the body. Pigmented areas also draw in heat from the light and the pigment then heats up and lifts, which then darkens for a few days before lifting to the surface in a micro crust and flaking away.

Teen Acne Treatments (Ages 13yrs – 17yrs Old)

At Medicare Aesthetics we fully understand how frustrating and upsetting teenage acne can feel. A lack of confidence in the way you look might be something you are having to deal with. Although acne is caused through hormones which we cannot do anything about we are able to offer some possible solutions to help combat the frequency and severity of flareups.

Every teen will react differently to their acne. While some will hardly notice it, others will feel self-conscious and want to hide away. Regardless of the severity it’s important to take it seriously and help find a treatment that helps clear the skin, prevent scarring, and avoid unnecessary emotional distress. Most over the counter treatments can offer limited success and pharmaceuticals have the potential for severe side effects. In light of this Medicare Aesthetics is offering 30% off all teen acne treatments to help build their self-confidence.

Intense pulsed light is great treatment for acne-prone skin. IPL uses light energy to destroy spot-causing bacteria, reduce inflammation and prevent excess sebum production. It also helps to improve the appearance of the skin and improve its texture. It can literally stop acne in its tracks. Most of our client suffering acne combine this with chemical peels which clean and remove dead skin from the skin. Both treatments working together offer a higher success rate than on their own.

Most individuals will find that the wart infection will clear on its own or with help from an over-the-counter treatment.
